Voces
Gaudii.
A shared visual language.
Choir of LGBTQ+ people and allies

The final brandbook cover — the actual design, featuring the choir, a vivid palette and the identity’s signature arch.
Different people.
A collective voice.
Voces Gaudii is a choir and a community. Its visual identity needed to reflect the energy of singing together without erasing the people who make it possible. The creative starting points were belonging, harmony, emotional warmth, power and joy — not as abstract promises, but as experiences shared by individual singers.
I developed a colourful, modular identity rooted in two simple shapes — an arc and a dot — and supported it with photography that alternates between individual faces and the strength of the whole ensemble.

The group is made
of individuals.
One of the identity’s guiding decisions was to give equal importance to close-up portraits and collective photographs. Together, they convey the choir’s dual nature: personal emotions and a powerful sense of belonging.

One arc.
One dot.
The mark draws on the choir’s concert formation — singers arranged in arcs around their conductor — and on the fan, a recurring object at performances. The arc and dot are also the building blocks of the wider identity. Their proportions and spacing are defined rather than left to chance.

One system.
Many expressions.
The logo stays monochrome: the palette and the choir’s photography carry the diversity. Inspired by LGBTQ+ colours, the palette is adjusted for the brand’s own tone. Arcs and dots can be recomposed into distinct symbols — for joy, shelter, community and emotional connection — while remaining recognisably Voces Gaudii.

Made to be
recognised.
The brandbook demonstrates how the identity can expand across concert communications, photography-led posters and campaign graphics. Instead of making every layout identical, the arc creates a recognisable relationship between each format.

Explored broadly.
Defined precisely.
The initial presentation explored several possible directions, including sound-derived lines and a more geometric arch-based language. The delivered identity is the arc-and-dot system shown throughout this case — the earlier routes are design explorations, not alternate launched identities.
